Temporary Emergency Shelter

Temporary Emergency Shelter

When children are removed from their homes due to life-threatening abuse or neglect, a temporary home must be found for them until more permanent plans are made.

Since 2003, Kidz Harbor has provided a safe and secure haven for children birth to 18 years who reside in Texas and are in crisis. The shelter has a 36 bed capacity.

It is our goal to reduce the emotional trauma suffered by children who are victims of abuse, violence and neglect in a safe and loving place.
In 2008 the state of  Texas chose Kidz Harbor to care for  35 FLDS children who were removed from their  families at the Yearning for Zion Ranch in Eldorado, Texas.  Every attention to detail was given to assist these children in their transition and provide a secure place for the duration of their stay.

We believe that we, as an agency and as a community, cannot turn our backs on our most valuable, and most vulnerable, resource - our children.
